Instructors can make changes to their course outlines now to prepare for the forthcoming Policy on Assessment of Student Learning (PASL) (effective Fall 2024) as long as those changes align with the University Student Assessment Policy (USAP) (effective through Summer 2024). For example, instructors can signal to students that they will give formative feedback before the official course withdrawal date (PASL 5.3) or outline expectations for all assessment tasks by detailing explicit criteria to describe the key elements of students' learning (PASL 5.5). Find resources to assist with PASL implementation.

An equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) statement is a text that can be included in course outlines and/or on myCourses to welcome all students and set the tone for the course. Need help writing an EDI statement? The reflection questions, sample EDI statements, and template in this EDI statement article can help you customize a statement in your voice that is appropriate to your course context.
