Use Content Templates in myCourses

Templates in myCourses allow you to create files that have a consistent layout. Templates can be .HTML, .HTM, .XHTML, or .CSS files.

  5. Unzip the file.

Enable templates in Content:

  1. Navigate to the main Content page from the Navigation Bar.

  2. Click Settings at the top-right.

Content settings are only available in the current Content Experience. See here for instructions about how to switch between the current and new Content Experiences.

  1. In the Content Authoring area, select the Enable HTML Templates checkbox.

  2. (Optional) To make it easier to find HTML templates, select the Sort HTML Templates by name option to sort templates in alphanumeric order based on file name.

  3. (Optional) The default template directory for all courses is the Shared Directory for McGill templates. You can change this directory to a folder in the Manage Files page of your course for easier access to your own templates:

    1. If you want to change where your templates are located, click Change Path and navigate to the desired directory.

    2. Select your new location (or create a new folder), then click Select Path.

    3. Click Save. You will now see the templates from your selected directory when you follow the steps to Use a Content Template (below).
