Share and embed lecture recordings in myCourses

You can upload videos using the Lecture Recordings tool in myCourses and subsequently embed them in different sections of your course, such as adding videos to your Content page or embedding them in a discussion topic.

Embedding lecture recordings does not currently work with the New Content Experience in Safari (MacOS). Follow these instructions to turn off the Experience.

Advantages to using Lecture Recordings in myCourses include:

  • Streaming: students can skip to different parts of a video without downloading the entire file.

  • Captioning: automatic captions are added to videos when uploaded,

  • Restrictions: instructors can restrict access to selected videos.

  • Viewing options: instructors can decide if students can download the video or if they are only able to stream it.
